Pre Marathon preparation and post event recovery 

07:00: Hackney Moves opens 

On Sunday we will help you prepare for the marathon, recover, relax and celebrate in style. With energizing music from the main stage from 07:00 and warmups across site from 08:00, you will be pumped and ready to go for the start of the race from 09:00. 

08:10: NEW warm-ups across site: New for this year, we have increased the warm-ups from the main stage PLUS introduced a variety of stretch, mobility and breathwork sessions in the House of Fitness and the House of Ministry.  

From 09:00: The Wizz Air Hackney Half Marathon starts 

Post-marathon recovery, relaxation and celebration: We have your post-race recovery sorted this year with a wide variety of cool down and relaxation sessions available on the main stage, in the House of Fitness and the House of Ministry. 

From recovery yoga to sound baths and fascia ball foot recovery to breathwork and mindfulness, you can warm down in safe hands. All sessions are open to all so bring your family and friends to chill with you.

Saturday schedule

  • Ben has spent 6+ years as a professional running coach, helping everyone from beginners to elite athletes. Ben is also a certified England Athletics coach, IRONMAN coach, personal trainer and Pilates instructor - and one of the founders of Runna.

  • Nazrin from sheRUNS brings you pre-race stretch and mobility which is open.to everyone. s𝗵𝗲𝗥𝗨𝗡𝗦 open to 𝗔𝗟𝗟 women bridging the gap between underrepresented 𝗪𝗢𝗠𝗘𝗡, 𝗠𝗨𝗦𝗟𝗜𝗠 & 𝗔𝗦𝗜𝗔𝗡𝗦 breaking negative association to movement outdoors.

  • Get your pre-race stretch on with Courtney & Jess and finish with some regulating breath-work to help balance your nervous system and prepare you physically and mentally ahead of your half marathon run.

  • Pre race warm up with with Sam Purnell from waking Dreams in the House of Fitness. Waking Dreams offer a diverse and exciting range of classes providing something for all. Whether you are completely new or have years of experience, we’ve got you.

  • Jess is a breath-work specialist (Oxygen Advantage & Buteyko), yoga teacher, Biomechanics Coach™, personal trainer, exercise referral specialist and mental health first aider. I offer bespoke coaching, events, courses, workshops and personal training.

  • QRC is a safe space for queer and trans people to run together. QRC is a community, a decentralised space for us all, as queer-identifying people, to run together without judgement or fear. We meet weekly in Hackney Downs and Victoria Park.

  • The independent gym run by Hackney locals, for Hackney locals. We're open, safe, inclusive and ready to help you get fit again. Think of us as your local fitness community, a home for big lifters, fitness fanatics, first-timers, and everyone else.

  • Keri is the founder of We Are Boogie Sound a yoga brand bringing together live music and sound most recently working for Pioneer DJ, The Ministry, Getahead Festival and South African charity Bridges for Music.

  • Welcome to The Rogue Room's Recovery Stretch for Marathon Runners! This class is specifically designed to provide marathon runners with the perfect post-race rejuvenation and focuses on gentle yet effective stretches to promote faster muscle recovery.

  • For all the amazing runners Woman Up UK have organised a cool down treat. Stretch with Circl Mobility led by UK master trainer Sabrina Ferro. Join the team at Woman Up official on instagram for a whole range of fitness and wellness programmes.

  • SOUND BATH: RESET, FOCUS & RELAX. Join SOUND MIRROR for a sound meditation to reset the body & mind and tune into your body and breath amongst the noise. Listen in with silent disco headphones for a truly immersive experience.

  • Hackney’s finest, Paigey Cakey, will be performing live on the main stage fresh from completing the half marathon. She released her first mixtape in 2014 entitled The First Paige. Don’t miss this opportunity to see Paigey Cakey for free at Hackney Moves.

  • Nita is a Mexican dancer turned yoga teacher turned movement specialist. Their classes are all about feeling good in the body while developing technical skills. Today their focus is on de-stressing those tired feet as a way to gain energy back.

  • Josh Connolly stands as a prominent mental health advocate in the United Kingdom. As a certified Breathwork Coach, his mission is guiding individuals to gain deeper insights into their own selves and emotions by fostering a connection with their intuition and body.

  • Take Feel good music and wrap it in some rhythmic Soul, together with meaning and sincerity at its core and you will get, Stone Jets. Made up of Given (bass and vocals), Manfred (Guitar) and Adrien (drums), Stone Jets have been calling London home since 2019.

  • I am a deaf personal trainer and fitness influencer to break barriers in the fitness industry for the deaf community. My classes are high energy, fast paced and I strongly encourage people to work together because it is all about teamwork, nobody left behind.

  • BeatFox specialises in low bass lines and robotic whistles. His style is fused with a range of rhythms and beats influenced from performing in such places as Tribal Gathering in Panama and the 2016 Olympics in Brazil.

  • Abi Skipper is a level 3 PT and fitness coach specialising in strength training and mobility. Her energy and vibes are exactly what you need after a big race, so get yourself down to The House of Fitness for the ultimate body and mind recovery session.

  • STORRY is quickly emerging as an artist to watch. With the sociopolitical importance of Childish Gambino, the powerhouse vocals of Adele, the grit of Cardi B, and the musical theatrics of Queen, STORRY’s music is a unique journey.

  • Drum Works uses drumming as a tool to inspire creativity, build social cohesion and empower young people to direct their own futures. Our community programme based in Stratford has groups for all ages. Get in touch with them to book your free taster session!

  • Get ready to rock and roll with the whole family at our Drag Bingo Show! We've got a great show planned for all the family. But that's not all - you'll also get to show off your best dance moves with our resident DJ spinning the coolest disco tunes in town.

  • HulaFit is all about putting the fun back into your fitness! You can hit the hoops with all the family at Hackney Moves as we will be in the festival village all day on Saturday 18 May. We know you will have fun, feel positive and happy and had a great workout.

  • The National Centre for Circus Arts is one of Europe’s leading providers of circus education and will be teaching basic skills for free at Hackney Moves. Based in Hoxton Square, we involve thousands of people in the performance of circus arts every year.

  • We were established in Hackney in 2013 and have been delivering high quality professional face and body painting for over a decade. We pride ourselves on being one of the best in the industry and have serviced a variety of open air community events.

  • Hackney Playbus is a small charity dedicated to bringing play opportunities and support to families who need it the most. We run a variety of services for families with children under five in East London. All our services are free to attend.
